The Pfeifer House is one of the oldest restaurants at Lake Tahoe. It is also one of its finest. It was established in 1939 as the Lake Inn and it became known as the Pfeifer House in 1954 when Herman Schaffer and Lois Pfeifer purchased the the restaurant. In 1972, Franz Fassbender, bought the well known dinner house – a Tahoe landmark.

These days Angela & Kirk Fassbender prepare all of Franz’s unique German food recipes. All of our food is prepared fresh daily.

The Pfeifer House is unique and very popular for both families and banquets (with facilities for up to 45 persons)

It was the site of the 1982 movie “Forbidden Love”, with Yvette Mimieux and Andrew Stevens.
